Why I swear by yoga nidra, every time
I’ve been an yoga nidra geek since 2014.
I remember practicing when I felt tired and low, and then teaching it every late afternoon Sunday at a studio in Melbourne.
I also remember being so grateful to know of a practice that could yield such great results with such little effort. Not only for me practicing, but also for the students who would attend my classes.
It was a thrilling feeling!
And then… life got louder, faster.
I moved cities. Built an online business. Got caught up in the rhythm of ambition and growth. My Nidra practice drifted to the background. But every time I came back to it (even for 20 minutes) it felt like coming home. Like the part of me that remembered how to be without doing was still there, patiently waiting.
I started to realise this practice wasn’t just restful, it was revelatory. What began as a gentle tool for fatigue slowly became a portal into my inner world. I noticed old patterns starting to soften. Creative ideas would arrive unannounced. I could feel my nervous system recalibrating in real-time.
Yoga Nidra became my anchor, not just on the mat, but in life.
Through every disappointment, every moment I felt like I’d veered off path, every season of self-doubt, I would come back to this practice. And it would remind me: you don’t need to fight your way forward. You can soften. You can listen. You can trust your own timing.
Because in that space between effort and surrender, something sacred happens. You remember who you are. You reconnect with your energy, your intuition, your truth.
That’s what Yoga Nidra gave me. Again and again. And it’s why I share it now, not as a technique, but as a transmission.
I was hooked.
Fast forward a few years…Yoga Nidra has been my secret weapon through it all.
It’s been this direct line to my inner guidance. My creative pulse. My sense of wholeness, even when everything on the surface felt uncertain or messy.
When I couldn’t think my way through a problem… I’d rest. When my body was tired but my mind was spinning… I’d lie down and listen. When I questioned everything… Yoga Nidra reminded me that I already knew.
It’s where my clarity lives. It’s how I return to myself. And now, after guiding hundreds of women through this practice, I know this for sure: Deep rest isn’t a luxury. It’s a leadership strategy.
But why is Yoga Nidra my fave?
Because it’s the only thing that quiets the noise without me needing to shut myself down.
It’s about tuning in to my truth, my timing, my next move.
It’s the fastest path to alignment I’ve ever found, and the one thing I return to when I need to reconnect with my energy without pushing through.
I teach Yoga Nidra and the art of active surrender in my program, Nidra Nirvana; so that coaches, healers, facilitators, and teachers like you can lead from a place of deep energetic alignment, not quiet exhaustion.
Because holding space is powerful. But it can also be draining if your system never gets to fully switch off.
Nidra isn’t just rest, it’s restoration. It’s a rewiring of your inner world and it’s where your nervous system resets, your creativity returns, and your capacity expands… without hustle.
In Nidra Nirvana, we don’t just practice stillness, we learn to partner with it, so that you can serve more powerfully, hold space more sustainably, and show up in your work and life with a full tank; instead of constantly running on reserves.
This is for the space holders who are ready to receive. The leaders who know: your energy is your method.
Anyway, I want to hear from you:
Where are you in your yoga nidra journey? Are you brand new? Have you been at it for a while? What’s your biggest struggle?
Hit reply and spill the beans. I can’t wait to read your story! I promise to reply. I always do. :)
With Love,
Arianna
